The parrafin covered body points to the invisible side of things, the aforetime, the darkness that existed over the face of the abyss, a latent existence. In this attempt at mastery of the soul by sensory life we know that there is more but we do not see it.
Whenever I am attracted to alchemy, I relate to the archaic knowledge that makes me a being prior to myself. Each material reappearance comes from earlier melting works and holds a shadow of past existences. I perceive the work in its current state as something based on accumulated experiences, a place of passage where stories and memories merge.
With each new change, unexpected combinations celebrate impurity, mixture and transformation. It is important to fear the absolutism of the pure. And feel the pauses, parentheses, absences. We live in a moment of excessive visual information speed. My slow works are a counterpoint to the contemporary rhythm, they ask for time to observe what is not clearly seen.
